NATURE: Castenuovo di Garfagnana

Today I went to Castelnuovo (Lucca), located in the Garfagnana valley and surrounded by the Tuscan Alps, called Apuane. It was pretty chilly but it was worth it, I walked for a couple of hours around the city, easily reachable by train from Lucca or Pisa, and I was impressed by some really old bridges and the majestic mountains around it. Even though I enjoyed it, I m under the impression that coming from Pietrasanta, on the sea front of the Apuane Alps, the sight can be even better: to lie at the feet of the mountain instead of being caught in the middle, it won't be long until I try this alternative itinerary.
